Frequently Asked Questions
Where will I get my vaccinations and prescriptions?
We send your vaccination and medication prescriptions to the pharmacy closest to you that can administer the vaccine. Most pharmacists today are trained to safely administer vaccines.
How is this different from a regular travel consult?
It’s similar but more convenient for you. The consult is done by phone and we send your prescriptions and vaccines to the pharmacy closest to you or one of our preferred pharmacies. The pharmacist administers any vaccine injections. We’re passionate about making healthcare convenient and efficient for all.
Does the travel consult cost include price of vaccines?
No. Vaccine pricing, like any other prescription drug, is set by the pharmacies and payable on prescription pick up. Your price also depends on any drug insurance coverage you may have. We do our best to partner and select pharmacies that offer the most competitive vaccine pricing. Vaccine prices range approximately from $20 to $240 and the most common travel vaccines cost $65 on average.
What is your refund policy?
We’re so confident about our service that our travel consult fee is 100% refundable anytime before prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy. You can cancel your appointment anytime or reschedule with no fees or penalties.
Do you do travel consults for babies and children?
We can do travel consults for children under 1 year old or greater than 5 years old. For children 1-5 years old, we recommend you visit a traditional non-pharmacy travel clinic as pharmacists in Alberta cannot administer injections for 1-5 year olds. All other ages are supported.
Is the fee covered by employee health insurance plans?
Yes, travel consult fees and vaccinations are reimbursable by most benefit plans that include a flexible health spending account. Check with your insurance provider for your exact policy. We’re happy to provide receipts compatible with your insurance provider’s reimbursement requirements.
